According to the data from China Cruise & Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA),the total number of cruise travelers in China is expected to top 700,000.The crazy growth of cruise market in China attracts major cruise companies all over the world to focus on Chinese market. Cruise barons Royal Caribbean International has been overweighting Chinese cruise market in recent years.

Liu Zinan, the vice president of Asia and China business apartment in Royal Caribbean International Limited Company gave some unique views on the current cruise market to the reporter of Beijing Business Today.

According to Mr. Liu Zinan, Royal Caribbean International will push four more cruises into Chinese market and set up four more home ports for cruises in China, Tianjin, Xiamen, HongKong and Shanghai. And its major tourist market share distributes in Central China and North China, followed by South China.

Many domestic cruise companies in China tried to low their prices to attract travelers, on the contrary, Royal Caribbean International takes brand line as its strategy. Actually, lowing prices means lower profits which will sacrifice the quality of service and facilities. So low-price competition in cruise industry is just as “drinking poison to end thirst”.
