China will lead project forwarding in 2013

2013-02-08

China will continue to drive the project shipping market in the Year of the Water Snake, especially with ever greater trade between the world’s most populous nation and Africa and South America, says the chairman of CLC Projects, Bo Drewsen.

CLC stands for China Logistics Club. The projects network was founded a year ago and now has 84 members, who are generally small or mid-sized companies.

Chinese companies need to make a greater impact overseas, Drewsen urged.

“Chinese forwarders need to gain an international foothold,” Drewsen told SinoShip News. “Chinese forwarders have been slow to realize this and that is a big weakness.”

CLC Projects nominate one member per province in China and one per country abroad only. The next gathering of the network is in Malta in May. The grouping is actively looking for more members across China’s 33 provinces.
