Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Company received three orders of 31800 DWT VLCC with 2 alternatives from China Merchants Energy Shipping Company recently.

The VLCC in the contract is designed by MARIC and Waigaoqia, whose EEDI is above 20% lower than MARPOL base line and oil consumption a day is 20% less than this type of old vessels. It adopted new M/E engine and ballast water management system.
