Nov. 24, 2014 - Leading Jack-up Rig Leg expert, HOIDI International Pte Ltd’s production division, Tianjin HOIDI Group Co. Ltd. have signed a GUSTO MSC CJ50-X120-E rig leg component fabrication & construction contract for the COSL HYSY944 CJ50 Project with China Merchant Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.

The scope includes the fabrication, installation, erection & construction of a complete set of legs for the HYSY 944 GUSTO MSC CJ50-X120-E project, a Jack-up rig with a maximum operating depth of 400ft & drilling depth of 30,000 ft. The high specification CJ50 Jack-up rig’s main leg component, rack & chord, will be made up of EQ70 special grade steel that can operate in -20°C waters, & suitable for north sea usage.

Delivery of the HSYS944 is planned in 2016, & according to COSL’s statement in a press release ” HYSY944 is CNOOC’s first large pile shoe Jack-up rig, which will fill the vacuum in the Group’s equipment for operations on soft formation”.
