DNV GL – Maritime has certified that the monitoring plan of the M/V Hamburg – a cruise ship hosting up to 423 passengers, owned by Hamburg Cruise SA and under the technical management of ACGI International Shipmanagement Singapore Pte. Ltd. – has met the Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of CO2 emissions Regulation (MRV) requirements, according to EU 2015/757 Regulation.

The compliance activities of the MRV have been entrusted to the Fleet Performance Monitoring Department of d’Amico Società di Navigazione, which is already in charge of monitoring the consumption and emissions of the whole Group fleet.

“This certification obtained by M/V Hamburg certifies and consolidates the image of a modern and virtuous management, focused on the quality of the environment aligned with the international legislation”, states Riccardo Polito, Chairman of Hamburg Cruise SA.

d’Amico Group has always believed that monitoring vessels’ performance is a crucial activity, as well as working in close relation with the shore-based staff to reduce emissions and fuel consumptions.

The ‘Monitoring Plan’ implemented by d’Amico Fleet Performance Monitoring Departement – the same used for the M/V Hamburg – consists of a complete and transparent documentation of the monitoring methods, contains all the ships’ relevant information and a description of the procedures, systems used for determining, recording and storing all measurements required by the Regulation.

According to the Regulation, companies must submit a Monitoring Plan to the certification authority for any of their ships by 31st August 2017, which has to be approved by 31st December 2017.
