On September 15, Yingkou Port No. 4 Company efficiently completed its first green methanol ship-loading operation, marking that Liaoning Port Group had successfully established a green methanol logistics corridor of “onshore production–port transshipment–maritime transport” in the Yingkou area. This injected strong momentum into the development of the green marine fuel industry in Northeast China and the building of a green energy logistics system.

The green methanol in this batch, loaded at Yingkou Port for sea shipment, was all produced using renewable energy. Compared with conventional methanol, it has significant advantages in full life-cycle carbon emission reduction and eliminating dependence on fossil feedstocks. As the core unit for the transshipment of this batch of green methanol, Yingkou Port No. 4 Company obtained ISCC EU certification in 2024. It now has a green methanol storage capacity of more than 200,000 cubic meters, four supporting operating berths, and can accommodate vessels of up to 85,000 tonnes. Its operating efficiency reaches 1,000 cubic meters per hour. It also has efficient and complete railway and road cargo handling facilities for port gathering, giving it outstanding comprehensive transshipment, storage, and transportation capabilities.

To ensure the efficient and smooth sea shipment of the first green methanol vessel, Yingkou Port No. 4 Company focused on the actual needs of cargo owner Goldwind, fully tapped the potential of its collaborative coordination mechanism, and targeted “zero waiting time” for green methanol vessels entering and leaving the port. It worked with all joint inspection units at the port to provide proactive services and targeted support throughout the process. Relying on an efficient and convenient port customs clearance, inspection, and supervision service system, it established a safe, efficient, and smooth new model for green energy port clearance, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent large-scale and regular sea transportation of green methanol. At the same time, based on the transshipment characteristics of methanol, the company further shifted its production management focus to the front line, strictly implemented hazardous chemicals operation management requirements, and carried out all-round real-time monitoring of key stages such as tank filling and ship loading, providing strong support for the on-schedule completion of the operation.
