Can Carry 8,102 Vehicles! China Merchants Energy Shipping's "Guangrong" Named and Delivered in Yizheng
On October 10, a naming and delivery ceremony was held in Yizheng, Jiangsu, for the 7,800-CEU methanol dual-fuel-powered ro-ro car carrier "Guangrong," ordered by China Merchants Energy Shipping. Sun Jianfeng, a full-time external director appointed by China Merchants Group, named the new vessel "CM GUANGZHOU" (the "Guangrong").

The "Guangrong" has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a molded breadth of 37.7 meters, and a designed capacity of 7,800 CEU, with actual capacity reaching 8,102 vehicles. It is equipped with 13 loading decks and a total vehicle-loading area of 67,076 square meters. The vessel features a methanol dual-fuel power system that supports flexible switching between fuel oil and methanol modes, complies with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Tier III emission standards, and can reduce full-life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions by more than 70% when sailing on green methanol.

The vessel is the first 7,800-CEU ro-ro ship in the 2+4 (two firm plus four optional) methanol dual-fuel-powered ro-ro ship order signed between China Merchants Energy Shipping and China Merchants Shipbuilding. Its successful delivery strongly promotes the construction of China Merchants Energy Shipping's green ro-ro fleet and further enhances China Merchants Ro-Ro's capacity to carry export vehicles and serve customers.
