Affected by Typhoon "White Dolphin," in the early morning of August 9, the port of Keelung in China's Taiwan region experienced strong winds, leading to a collapse incident at the container yard on the west bank. Preliminary statistics indicate that seven containers toppled over, sustaining varying degrees of damage. Additionally, the incident caused a collision with a gantry crane, though fortunately, no casualties were reported. Keelung Port Corporation has cordoned off the site and is assessing the losses.

Keelung Port is a major maritime cargo gateway and an international cruise home port in northern China's Taiwan region, situated along the essential Northeast Asia shipping routes. The port comprises 14 container berths, capable of accommodating container ships of up to 10,000 TEU, with a designed throughput capacity of 3 million TEU. Over the past three years, its average annual throughput has been 1.59 million TEU.
