Recently, customs officers at Dayaowan Customs, under Dalian Customs District, discovered during a physical inspection of a shipment of imported bonded goods declared as "ship's documents" that a number of maps incorrectly identified China's Taiwan region as a country, seriously undermining China's sovereignty and territorial integrity and contravening the One-China Principle. Following a count, a total of 43 "problematic maps" were identified.

According to Article 4 of the Measures of the Customs of the People's Republic of China for the Supervision and Control of Printed Matter and Audio-Visual Products Entering and Leaving the Territory, printed matter and audio-visual products that endanger national unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are prohibited from entry. The customs authorities have lawfully detained the aforementioned "problematic maps."
