Rates for Capesize and Panamax vessels remained a downward trend, driving BDI continuous decline on Jan. 7 (Wed.) with a drop of 14 points (1.85%), closing at 744 points.

BCI dropped 35 points (8.1%) to 397 points, reaching a historically low since collecting data in March, 1999. At the same time, the average daily earnings fell $73 to $4,967.

BPI decreased 14 points (1.76%), closing at 780 points. The average daily earnings slumped $106 to $6,219.
