Nov. 12 Daily Dry Bulk Comment

2013-11-13

A moderate amount of dry bulk vessels were chartered in the spot market again today. As with yesterday, a firm amount of capesize vessels were chartered to haul iron ore cargoes and panamax vessels were chartered to haul coal cargoes. Capesize and panamax rates have remained under pressure but are expected to find support if strength in iron ore and coal trade continues this week. Rates for supramax and handysize vessels have continued to find a small amount of support due in large part to firm mineral cargo trade and fleet growth in the supramax and handysize markets remaining at manageable levels.
