- if you want true recycling shipbreaking you might send your vsl to US or Japan,

- if you want formally recycling shipbreaking with lose money, then pls send your vsl to china.

Allow of no doubt everyone sitting here focus on the future of Chinese recycling shipbreaking, special the scrapyard owners & who pay extra bonus per green recycling are due the bill per Chinese recycling.

As a matter of fact, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has adopted the “Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships” (Hong Kong Convention) in 2009 and is enforced by EU-Regulation for all ships of 500GT and above flying EU countries’ flags from December 30th 2013.

Although EU has not finished making their "authorized Ship Recycling Facilities list" yet, we confidently believe most of these authorized scrapyards should be Chinese.

Unlike the berthing method widely used in India subcontinent which cause lots of environment (especially sea water and shore) pollution and workers death & injure, China's scrapyards do the scrap work in dock or berth.

This minimizes the pollution and is the most advanced method in the world, Turkey also has the ability of green recycling, and their geography location near Europe is indeed an advantage, but question is their yards’ capacity is too limited.

Therefore we predict that most of the end-of-life vessels adopting the green policy will come to delivery at China in future.

Actually nowadays we find several society-responsible shipowners, such as Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, Hoegh, have already chosen China as the only delivery place for their end-of-life vessels.

This also shows the professionality of China scrapyards. It sounds a good thing for China, but I believed the yard’s owners are not so happy. (TO BE CONTINUED)
