new ship price

The most recently released data from theChina Association Of The National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI) shows that Chinese shipyards received new orders rose 36% year-on-year to 47.4Mdwt in the first eight months of 2014.

Both the volume of ship exports and the income of main business also maintained a growth, but the newbuilding price experienced a shift from rise to fall, and the outlook of newbuilding market is still grim.

Ship exports in China continue to grow. From January to August, 19.07 Mdwtof new built ships were exported throughout the country, down7.3% year-on-year. New orders for exporting ships increased 50% compared to the same period of pervious year to 44.65Mdwt. By the end of August, hand-held export orders reached at 146.16 Mdwt, up 57.2% from a year earlier.

However, affected by slow growth of global economy and remaining low shipping market, the price of newbuilding ships is experiencing a shift from rise to fall. The completion of ships in the month continues to fall; the economic benefits of the key monitored enterprises saw a continuing decline.
