14 coastal cities to rush for cruise line economic pie

According to China Cruise & Yacht Industry Association CCYIA, due to promising prospects for cruise tourism which can drive economic development, Chinese coastal cities arise the trendy way of constructing cruise terminals. 4 cities have finished 5 terminals, 4 of which are extending Phase II. Another 4 cities are newly building cruise terminals and other 6 cities planned to build this kind of terminal.

The Association showed that Shanghai, Tianjin, Xiamen and Sanya have constructed 5 international cruise terminals. Zhoushan, Qingdao, Dalian and Shenzhen are constructing the terminals. Haikou, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing, Yantai and Qinhuangdao are planning to construct the cruise terminals. China has become an important original port for cruise liners around Asian-Pacific region and an significance port of call for global shipping route, therefore, the Asian cruising market centering China has got into the most promising market in the world.

According to the statistics of CCYIA, the number of people for outbound tourism by cruise liners in China has been increased to 570, 000 in 2013 from several thousand in 2005 and will be expected to break 700, 000 in 2014 and be predicted to reach 1 million in 2015.

8 cruise liners in China and abroad are under the operation and service in China and it will be increased to 12 next year.
