2014-10-20

Tianjin Nangang Industrial Zone in North China is to open up for foreign trade by the end of 2014.

The industry park already has built up three terminals, and 13 of the 48 planned berths have been completed. "The terminals there are able to accept 10,000dwt vessels," stated Liu Jinlu, Director of Nangang Industrial Zone Planning Bureau at the press conference.

The industrial zone has already obtained approval from the State Council for opening up, and the port is capable of intermodal shipping with other international ports.

By 2015, the zone will receive an investment of CNY200Bn ($30Bn) and expects an annual industrial output value of CNY300Bn. Two railway lines will connect the zone to a railway network throughout China, making the zone a choice for intermodal transport.
