Shanghai Shipping Fund Invests in Container Carriers

Shanghai Shipping Fund, China\'s first shipping fund, made its first investment in container carriers.

China Shipping (Group) claimed in last November that it was going to invest $us 750,000,000 to purchase 8 containers stowed with 10,000 TEUs. Meanwhile, the group also signed a contract of 4 optional ships, with a total value of $us 370,000,000.

The shareholders of Shanghai Shipping Industry Fund Management Co., Ltd. are Guotai Junan Innovation Investment Co., Ltd., China Shipping Investment Co., Ltd., Shanghai State-owned Assets Operation Co., Ltd. and Hongkou State-owned Assets Operation Co., Ltd. With a registered capital of 200,000,000 RMB, this company is in charge of the raising, management and operation of the fund.
