Jiangsu Coastal Ship Route Planning Is Released

 (January 11, Chinanews.net Nanjing) The Jiangsu Maritime Bureau announced on the 11th that the “Jiangsu Coastal Ship Route Planning” (hereinafter referred to as the “Planning”) was formally released on the 11th. The “Planning” includes ship routes for ships entering and exiting various coastal ports and routes between coastal ports. The “Planning” requires that in division of various ocean functional areas, ocean development planning and the course of construction of various sea-involved projects, we should take initiative to avoid anchorage ground waters within coastal ports of Jiangsu and keep away from the waters in the planning for coastal ship routes of Jiangsu.

The “Jiangsu Coastal Ship Route Planning” is compiled according to the “Jiangsu Coastal Area Development Planning”, the “Overall Planning of National Coastal Ship Routes” and the “Overall Planning of National coastal Ship Routing System”, includes 19 seaways in the south-north ship routes entering and exiting Lianyungang (601008), Guanghekou, Binhai Port Area, Sheyang Port Area, Dafeng Port Area, Yangkou Port Area, Lvsi Port and Beizhi Seaway. At the same time, in 33 places such as Lianyungang Port, Guanhekou, Binhai Port, Sheyang Port, Dafeng Port, Yangkou Port and Lvsi Port, coastal port anchorage ground.

The Jiangsu Maritime Bureau will, according to the requirement of the “Planning”, on the basis of fully consulting and communicating with relevant departments, develop and plan the water area ship route design, and with supporting port production and appropriate surpassing as the principle, plan and construct anchorage ground outside port in coastal ports of Jiangsu. 

The release of the “Planning” will improve Jiangsu’s coastal navigation environment, improve the sea transportation efficiency and play an important role in guaranteeing ship navigation safety, and promoting the development of port economy and coastal shipping economy in Jiangsu.
