2012-02-10

CNPC released a piece of new on February 9, claiming that it will take the “application of natural gas in the Yangtze River” as the cut-in point to promote the application of clean energy such as natural gas in the shipping industry.

CNPC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CSC in Wuhan on February 8. According to the agreement, the two sides will speed up the construction of liquefied natural gas filling stations along the Yangtze River, and vigorously promote the use of natural gas during operation and among newly-built ships.

CNPC pointed out that, as a kind of low-carbon, clean and convenient energy, natural gas, with the features of lower emission and greater economic benefits, has wide market space to replace oil in shipping.

CSC mainly operates business such as shipping, ship building and repairing, fuel trade and so on. It is the only enterprise in China that can provide a full-range of logistics service in the Yangtze River, coastal areas and oceans.
