Damain Bishop be promoted to Group Director, Business Development

Damain Bishop, with 30 years’ experience in the Australian logistics industry in Operational, Sales and General Management roles; 12 years with TNT Express and 8 years with Ansett Australia; as well as Joining Toll in 2002 and working in various sales roles including National Sales Manager, Toll Fast and General Manager, Group Business Development, has been promoted to the newly created role of Group Director Business Development.

 

Damain will work closely with the Divisional Directors and functional heads to develop long term strategic partnerships with significant global, regional and domestic customers whose logistics requirements span more than one division and/or business unit.  He will be responsible for driving industry sector solution selling as well as creating and capturing opportunities for long term global growth and performance.  He will be responsible for leading major, complex tenders in Australia and New Zealand.

 

Damain will be responsible for coordinating the account management for the top 50 Toll Group customers, working in conjunction with the Divisional Directors and in partnership with Paul Coutts, Group Products, Marketing and Sales Director, TGF and Dominic Rego, Director Business Development, TGL. He will personally manage strategic accounts where it is deemed appropriate by the businesses to do so and set the strategic agenda for Group Business Development in consultation with the Managing Director. He will be responsible for putting in place the capability needed to develop business globally in collaboration with the Divisional Directors and Divisional BD heads and he will lead the development and implementation of group sales training standards in conjunction with Divisional BD heads and Group Learning and Development.

 

Damain will play a critical role in Toll’s ongoing goal to drive organic growth and build the One Toll imperative to offer our customers a complete logistics solution and leverage our synergies. He will continue to report to me and effectively immediately he will join the Group Senior Executive Committee (GSEC). Damain is a proven performer in his current role as GGM BD and brings significant experience in working with major customers and across multiple sectors and businesses.
