The Dutch owned shipping giant Vroon had became world famous again just one week earlier for one of its Philippine flag live stock carrier Bison Express successfully recued several lives at sea from a distressed asylum boat which was en route from Indonesia to Christmas Island, Australia. All the crew members of the 1995 built vessel had once again showed the marine ethic of a traditional European shipping company. "Vroon would like to thank the crew of Bison Express for carrying out their duty as mariners, assisting the authorities in the rescue operation” the company said.

Apart from that story, this year also marks the 60 year anniversary of Vroon’s dry bulk shipping operation since its first dry cargo carriers was buildt in 1952. The company’s dry bulk arm currently operates a fleet of 2 post Panamax bulk carriers 93,000 dwt SCANDINAVIAN EXPRESS and SCOTIAN EXPRESS. And yeaster with the successful delivery of a 79,000 dwt Panamax bulk carrier PERUVIAN EXPRESS from Cosco Dalian Shipyard, there are still two more 93,000 dwt post Panamax to be delivered from the same shipyard starting 4th quarter this year.

All the vessels are under technical management or newbuilding supervision of the Fleet Management company based in Hong Kong who has been working with Cosco Dalian Shipyard of ten 93,000 dwt post Panamax carriers since late 2009 for different owners including Noble and Vroon.

Beside the dry bulk and cattle service, Vroon also diversifies his business into Offshore Support Vessel service which is a world leading one, Container service, Tanker service by its susidary company Iver Ships and Car carriers service.
