China's AVIC is to merge two of its shipbuilding subsidiaries, AVIC International Beijing and AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding.

The merger aims to better integrate and optimize the group’s shipbuilding resources to overcome the current market slump.

AVIC's shipyards have been suffering from severe order drought this year.
