SMM 2012 sets a positive signs for the future of the maritime industry, with over 50,000 visitors from all parts of the world and 2,100 exhibitors covering 90,000 square metres. The Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine technology fair in Hamburg, confirmed its position as one of the industry’s leading international trade fairs. The Netherlands was well represented SMM 2012 with the largest international representation and 51 companies hosted at the Maritime by Holland Pavilion.

More than 30 countries presented their activities in national pavilions. The Dutch pavilion broke her previous record in terms of size and number of participants. The exhibitors of the Maritime by Holland Pavilion gained a lot of new business opportunities, generated leads and renewed existing international relations.

Highlight of the exhibition was the Holland Herring Party which took place in the Holland Lounge of the pavilion on Thursday September 6th. This networking event, organised by HME in cooperation with the NBSO in Hamburg and the Dutch Embassy in Berlin, attracted over 300 visitors.

SMM 2014, the 26th edition will be held at the Hamburg Fair site from 9 to 12 September 2014. The Netherlands is looking forward to meeting you there again next time!
