2013-04-07

According to Shandong MSA, cargo throughput in Shandong ports has seen sharply decline amid the obvious decreasing of metal ores and crude oil in 1Q.

The coastal cargo throughput in February and March has respectively slide by 11% and 11.7% year-on-year. Except container throughput, the metal ores and crude oil cargos declined sharply by 21.5% and 15.9%.

Taken together, the current oversupply of shipping market is still serious, causing inadequate safety input by some shipping companies. In the second half of 2012, 4 shipping companies left safety management system, potential safety hazards are further emphasized on maritime transport.
