China miners to reduce production, coal inventory sharply decline

2013-05-15

As coal consumption peak season coming, coal inventory in Qinhuangdao Port and other two ports sharply declined exceeding market expectations.

Recently China’s largest mining province Shanxi and Inner Mongolia has started to restrict the production and seek outlet for the inventory.

An industry source said that the coal market is expected to end its decline in May. The coal giants such as Shenhua may temporarily get out of being forced to reduce price.
