By the end of May 2013, China has surpassed South Korea in the aspect of newbuilding orders. And according to statistics from Clarkson, the cumulative orders in China during January to May 2013 has reached a total of 5.32 million CGT, while that in South Korea is 5.23 million CGT.

May 2013 alone has seen 810000 CGT orders gained by South Korea’s shipbuilding industry, and 1.23 million CGT in China in the same period.
