China's 10-month total logistics value rises 9.6pc to US$28.8 trillion

CHINA Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) figures show the total value of logistics in the first 10 months had increased 9.6 per cent year on year to CNY163.3 trillion (US$28.8 trillion), Xinhua reports.

Industrial product logistics value increased 9.7 per cent to CNY149.7 trillion while import goods logistics value climbed 8.5 per cent to CNY10 trillion.

Recycled waste logistics value soared 22.5 per cent spurred by rapid development of green economy. Agricultural produce logistics value grew 3.4 per cent.

China Logistics Prosperity Index's employee sub-index climbed 0.1 percentage point from September to 51.3 per cent, which had been staying above the critical level of 50 per cent for three straight months.

From January to October, China's total logistics cost, the aggregate spending on all logistics operations nationwide, increased 9.2 per cent year on year to CNY7.9 trillion.

CFLP pointed out that the figures indicated that China's production and consumer activities are becoming more active, and that the country's economy is growing steadily. They also predicted that the logistics industry will continue to be on steady rise for the rest two months of this year.
