Vessels in HK collision identified

The vessels involved in a collision in Hong Kong waters were identified as Santa Maria, a ferry, and Mui Wo, a general cargo vessel. The ferry carrying 82 passengers and 10 crew members collided with the general cargo ship off Tuen Mun in Hong Kong amid fog on 18 February morning. The accident took place at around 1030hrs local time on 18 February with the visibility at the site falling to 370m, according to the Marine Department of Hong Kong. No casualties were reported. The vessels sustained only minor damages to their hulls. The ferry continued its operation after the accident, while the container ship was held in the probe into the accident. The Marine Department is still investigating the cause of the incident.
