Chinese shipyard Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry has secured an order for two Newcastlemax options from German owner Oldendorff Carriers.

The two 208,000dwt vessels are scheduled for delivery in September and November 2016. The original order was placed by the Lubeck-based owner towards the end of January 2014 and the two vessels, which are to be named Hubertus Oldendorff and Hanna Oldendorff, are planned for delivery in May and July 2016 respectively.

The vessels are understood to be priced at about $52M each and the owner now has 24 vessels of this size on order, with six at Hyundai Heavy Industries' Gunsan yard and the remainder in China.
