DNV Petroleum Services renamed to Veritas Petroleum Services

2014-07-16

Global fuel testing services firm DNV Petroleum Services has changed its name to Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) after it detached itself as a subsidiary of Norway’s Det Norske Veritas (DNV) less than a year ago.

VPS announced on Tuesday that the new entity will continue to retain its global leadership in fuel management services and enduring collaborative partnership with DNV GL, the merger of class societiesDNV and Germanischer Lloyd (GL) in September 2013.

“Today (15 July) marks an important milestone for us because our new brand identity completes our independence, legally as well as visually,” said Eirik Andreassen, ceo of VPS.

VPS said it seeks to leverage its unique capabilities and global network to continuously improve and expand its services to meet the ever-changing, evolving needs of its clients.

It added that the challenge for the maritime industry today is making decisions which optimise operations in the short term, without restricting the opportunity to sustain margin in the long term, regardless of the future landscape.

Singapore-headquartered VPS affirmed that it will delve deeper into fuel related issues onboard ships, increase the number of joint industry projects, and use its knowledge and innovations for the benefit of its customers and the maritime industry.
