Singapore-listed Cosco Corporation’s shipyards have secured shipbuilding contracts worth a total of about $300m to build one accommodation barge and up to seven dry bulk carriers.

Cosco (Zhoushan) Shipyard has won orders from an European company to construct one DP3 accommodation barge scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2016. The yard also bagged orders from an Asian company for two 64,000 dwt bulk carriers due for deliveries in the first half of 2016.

Additionally, the Zhoushan yard confirmed an option for another 64,000 dwt bulker attached to an earlier order in September 2013 from an European shipowner.

Another yard, Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard, has clinched orders from an Asian firm to build two 82,000 dwt bulkers slated for deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016, respectively. An European company will also build two 82,000 dwt bulkers at the yard, for deliveries in the second quarter and third quarter of next year respectively.
