Malaysian state fund becomes substantial stakeholder in Coastal Contracts

2014-08-11

Oil and gas (O&G) players seem to be investment du jour among Malaysian funds these days, with the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) recently emerging as a substantial shareholder in Coastal Contracts with a 5.14% direct stake.

It earlier this week acquired an additional 1.67m shares in the company.

Investment fund Pelaburan Mara had also recently bought major stakes in loss-making container line PDZ in an attempt to turn it into an O&G company.
