2014-09-17

China’s Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard is expecting to enlarge its contract value for offshore construction this year compared to the last, reports said.

In the first half of 2014, state-owned Cosco Zhoushan clinched six new contracts plus seven options, and a majority of the deals is for offshore work.

At present, the Zhejiang province yard is building 13 new ships and nine of them are offshore vessels. The ships under construction include PSVs, FPSOs, oil tankers and pipelay barges.

A Cosco Zhoushan official was reported saying that over the course of this year the yard has been looking out for deals in the offshore sector and enhancing its product offerings by moving up the value-chain.
