CSSC Jiujiang Science and Technology R&D Center turned out to have signed a contract with CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding to supply ballast water management system (BWMS) for two 1,700 teu containerships.

The 1,700 teu containership is awarded at Huangpu Wenchong by Buss Shipping and the BWMS contract marks another achievement of the Jiujiang R&D center after it won the first order of ‘OceanDoctor’ BWMS in August.

OceanDoctor BWMS was researched and developed by Jiujiang Precision Measuring Technology Research Institute, CSSC-affiliated institute, and it was granted a certificate by USCG AMS in June.

Meanwhile, the BWMS supply agreement is the first contract signed with one of CSSC Group’s major shipbuilders. Also, it is a milestone that it won a vessel of the first US shipowner that it is expected to boost profile of OceanDoctor BWMS and CSSC equipment.

Jiujiang R&D center will work on commercialization of OceanDoctor BWMS and plan to receive certificates from BV and LR till the end of this year.
