Director of Yangtze River Waterway Bureau Tang Guanjun said in an interview that promoting development of Yangtze River Economic Belt and marine shipping has upgraded to national strategy, which has offered an historic opportunity for inland river and marine shipping integration development.

The State Council announced three guidance to boost development of Yangtze River Economic Belt, marine shipping industry and logistics respectively, which have a feature in common that all stress to develop river-sea transportation and intermodal transportation. Tang said that the open and cooperation of economic development shall require river-sea transportation.

He also said that the economic belt crossed eastern, central and western regions, owning special advantages and huge potentials.

To boost the integration of river-sea transportation, four items shall be followed:

Functions for the golden waterway of Changjiang River shall be improved. capacity of The Three Gorges shall speed up.Further improve supporting capacity. The ship type shall be standardized to fit for river-sea transportation.Further upgrade logistics development level of Yangtze River Economic Belt. Positively support the logistics development along the river and offer shipping logistics service.Enhance industrial supervision together with ecological protection and green development of Changjiang River.
