The global unique two 7th deep-water semisubmersible drilling rigs are under construction at CIMC Raffles’s Haiyang Base, and the construction of the first one has finished 60%.

The drilling rig will be able to operate at water depth up to 3,658 metres and drill wells down to 15,250 metres, and will be built to the D90 design, equipped with NOV drilling package, DP3 and eight-point mooring system. according to CIMC Raffles.

It will be the deepest deep-water semisubmersible drilling rig in the world, which will be designed to operate in the harsh North Sea environment and also other challenging regions such as the Arctic and Barents Sea.

CIMC Raffles has successfully delivered eight deep-water semisubmersible drilling rigs and nine self-elevating platforms since October 2010.

In the first half of this year, the order of semisubmersible drilling rigs held byCIMC Raffles account for 20 per cent of the global market, which has preliminarily established the status of major supplier in the Norway's North Sea area.
