China has banned all imports of U.S. poultry and poultry products. That's after highly pathogenic strains of avian influenza were found in America's Pacific Northwest.

All poultry and poultry related products shipped from the US after Jan. 8 will be returned or destroyed. That's according to the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council. The ban also applies to poultry breeding stock, including live chicks and hatching eggs. U.S. poultry exports to China from last January through November reached 272 million dollars.
