2015-03-23

Regional Container Lines (RCL) is upsizing the vessels on services between Singapore and Manila and Vietnam.

RCL is increasing the size of the vessels it deploys on its Singapore – Manila service to 2,000 teu from 1,600 teu at present. Its partner on the service ACL will be similarly upsizing the vessel it deploys on the service.

“This upsizing will cater for the growing COC (carrier owned container) trade between South East and West Asia to the Philippines,” said Charles Chu, evp of business fro RCL.

The Meratus Java will be deployed on the service by RCL from 30 March.

RCL is also increasing the size of vessel it deploys on its Singapore – Ho Chi Minh City service with the Hansa Rotenburg. The new vessel will increase capacity from 1,080 teu to 1,600 teu from 29 March.

Our current capacity is no longer sufficient to cater for the requirement of our main lines and carrier owned boxes,” said Chu.
