Jinling Shipyard bags order to build two car carriers

China’s Jinling Shipyard has entered into a contract with Anji Automotive last Thursday to build two 3,800 ceu pure car/truck carriers (PCTCs).

Jinling Shipyard, an affiliate of Sinotrans & CSC Group, will deliver the newbuildings in 2017. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The new ships will be designed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute and class by China Classification Society (CCS).

The last order by Anji Automotive at Jinling Shipyard was for a pair of 2,000 ceu PCTCs in 2014. The two vessels are currently under construction.
