Sinotrans & CSC opens new management entity and orders a dozen new ships

Sinotrans & CSC, one of China’s major state-run logistics companies, has commenced operation of SinoMarine, the integrated shipping management platform of the company, in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone today.

According to Li Zhen, general manager of SinoMarine, the company will gradually integrate the shipping assets of Sinotrans & CSC and function as the management entity for all the shipping operations of the group.

Additionally, Sinotrans & CSC has announced new ship orders made up of six 38,000dwt woodchip carriers at CSIC, four 1,900teu containerships and two 50,000dwt product tankers at CSSC.

Sinotrans & CSC controls a fleet with total capacity of over 12m dwt, and has more than 1m dwt of new vessels on order.
