A senior official of state-run energy giant China Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has pled guilty at a court trial held in Shenzhen yesterday.

Luo Weizhong, former general manager of CNOOC Gas & Power Group, admitted his crimes of collusion in entering bids and acceptance of bribes. The court hasn’t announced the sentence yet.

Luo joined CNOOC in 1982 and had been in charge of CNOOC’s gas operations since 2012. He was detained by authorities in November 2014.

In March, Wu Zhenfang, former vice general manager of CNOOC, was also arrested for corruption investigations.
