2015-12-25

Athens-based dry bulk shipping company Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract with Cargill International S.A., Geneva, for one of its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, the M/V Myrto.

The 82,131 dwt bulker will be chartered out on a gross charter rate of USD 6,000 per day, minus a 4.75% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum ten to about thirteen months.

The 2013-built Myrto started its charter today.

Diana expects that this contract will generate approximately USD 1.8 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

In December alone, the company has entered a number of charter contracts, the latest ones being for the Capesize dry bulk vessel M/V Santa Barbara and the Post-Panamax dry bulk vessel the M/V Polymnia.

The combined carrying capacity of Diana’s fleet currently stands at approximately 5 million dwt with a weighted average age of 7.33 years.
