China’s Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry has clinched its first order to build stainless steel chemical tanker for a domestic shipowner, diversifying its ship type offerings.

The shipbuilder will construct one 5,390-dwt stainless steel chemical tanker for Jianfa Shipping Company.

Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry, which builds mainly car carriers, container vessels and dry bulk carriers, announced that it is the first time that the shipyard will be building stainless steel chemical tankers.
