Deep Sea Supply puts 11th PSV in lay-up as rates fall

OSV owner and operator Deep Sea Supply has put another PSV in cold lay-up while those that continue operating see a drop in charter rates.

Deep Sea Supply said it had 11 PSVs in cold lay-up in January, compared to 10 in the previous month meaning some 44% of its PSV fleet is now in lay-up. The company said that average income from its 14 PSVs in operation dropped to $10,100 per day per vessel in January, compared to $10,800 in December 2015.

In some better news four AHTS vessels which had been blocked in Brazil had their operating licenses renewed and returned to operations under an existing contract in mid-January.

Average income for its fleet of AHTS was up in January at $15,900 per day, per vessel in January, compared to $12,500 in December 2015.
