2016-02-29

Dorian LPG has concluded the sale of Grendon, its oldest, smallest LPG Carrier, to focus solely on very large gas carriers (VLGCs).

The 5,016 cu m vessel with an estimated market value of $6.6m was sold to Thai outfit Siam Lucky Marine, and subsequently renamed Senna 5.

Dorian LPG also announced that it took delivery of 84,000 cu m 'Eco VLGC' Caravelle from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, earlier this month. The vessel, the last in a series of 19 of the type delivered since 2014, will trade in the Helios LPG Pool.

With the delivery of Caravelle, the company’s fleet stands at 22 vessels, all of them less than 10 years old and over 80,000 cu m. Chairman and ceo John Hadjipateras said: “With the delivery of the Caravelle and the sale of the Grendon, our fleet is comprised solely of VLGCs and firmly positions us as a leading operator of modern Eco VLGCs focused on providing safe, reliable and trouble-free transportation.”
