Chemoil will commence bunker fuel supply operations at Australia’s Brisbane port from 23 June, utilising one bunker barge capable of holding heavy fuel oil and gas oil.

Glencore, which owns Chemoil, announced that its bunker supplier subsidiary has entered into a long term terminal storage agreement with GrainCorp, while barging operations will be undertaken by United Maritime Australia.

“The addition of the port of Brisbane will further strengthen Chemoil's supply network throughout Australasia and is another important strategic step for us as we expand our offering to shipowners, cruise lines, brokers, and agents,” said Brett Crawford, manager of Glencore Oil in Australia.

The latest Brisbane venture will be Chemoil’s second new Australian bunker supply operation, following the launch of operations in a number of ports along the New South Wales coast since April this year.
