Cypriot re-elected to International Chamber of Shipping Board

Cyprus Shipping Council Vice-President Philippos Philis has been re-elected in the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) Board of Directors, as the representative of Cyprus` shipping industry.

ICS held its Annual General Meeting in Tokio on June 2-3 attracting a large number of shipowners and shipmanagers’ associations from all over the world.

Philis and CSC Director General Thomas Kazakos attended the meeting where Philis was re-elected as the Cyprus Shipping Industry’s representative at the Board of Directors of the International Chamber of Shipping, “thus showing the high recognition the Cyprus Shipping Chamber is enjoying among the International Shipping community,” a press release issued by CSC writes.

The main discussion topics of the ICS Annual General Meeting included, the measures to be taken by the International Shipping Industry to reduce even further the amounts of green house gas emissions, Ballast Water Management and the Humanitarian Crisis in the Mediterranean Sea.
