Tankers: Worldscale flat rates set to rise at India’s Mumbai

Worldscale flat rates are set to rise for foreign voyages to and from the Indian port of Mumbai, the Worldscale Association said in a circular Wednesday.

“As a result of a significant increase in Port Tariffs at [Mumbai] the Associations find it necessary to revise all rates involving loading or discharging at this port,” said the circular.

Amended rates at the port will be obtained by adding $0.13/mt to all flat rates on foreign voyages involving the port.

The amendment will be effective for all voyages on which loading is commenced on or after August 19.
