2016-11-18

BW Broker, a very large gas carrier (VLGC) owned by Singapore-based shipping company BW LPG, has loaded the first commissioning cargo from the new P66 Freeport Liquefied Propane Gas (LPG) Export Terminal in Texas.

The terminal is expected to have an initial export capacity of 4,4 million barrels per month and 150,000 barrels per day.

The BW Broker that loaded the cargo has a capacity of 80,138 cubic meters. The ship was built by Japanese shipbuilder Kawasaki Heavy Industries in 2007.

Located on the Brazos River in South Houston, three miles from the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the recently built Freeport Terminal is said to be one of the most accessible ports on the Gulf Coast.

The new facility is scheduled to become fully operational in mid-December, according to local media.
