Mumbai-based company Mercator Limited has decided to sell two of its Panamax bulk carriers for a total of USD 13.2 million, according to data provided by VesselsValue.

The 2006-built bulkers, with around 82,400 dwt, were sold to an undisclosed Chinese shipowner for USD 6.6 million each.

Sri Prem Varsha and Sri Prem Vidya, featuring a length of 229 meters and a width of 32.3 meters, were built by Japan’s shipbuilder Tsuneishi Zosen.

With a capacity of 97,000 m3, the vessels’ market value stands at USD 9.2 million a piece, VesselsValue data shows.

The 10-year-old bulkers were a part of Merkator Ltd’s fleet of 12 vessels, five of which were bulk carriers.

In late September 2016, the company sold its 74,400 dwt Panamax bulker Garv Prem through an auction procedure. VesselsValue informed that the ship, which was laid up since March 2016, was sold for USD 4 million.
