FESCO Modifies FPKL Container Service

2016-12-09

Russia’s FESCO Transportation Group informed it is reducing the overall transit time on the FESCO Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Line (FPKL), because of lowering cargo turnaround time in the port of loading (Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port) from eight to four days.

The company plans to implement the changes by deploying additional tonnage in the service.

FESCO said that the shipping delivery time on FPKL remains the same – four days, while the total transit time between Moscow and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky will be reduced from 26 to 22 days.

Two 707 TEU container vessels built in 2004, FESCO Novik and FESCO Navarin, are deployed in the service on a regular basis. Another boxship, the 320 TEU Kapitan Krems, operates on the route during the peak period.

The year-round FPKL service provides transportation in dry, refrigerated COC (carrier owned container) and SOC (shipper’s own container) containers for both interportal connection and for direct mixed railway-maritime connection, as well as general cargo.
